Beloved Moseley Bar The Cuban Embassy to Close After 11 Years, Promises Exciting New Beginnings

After 11 memorable years in the heart of Moseley, The Cuban Embassy has announced it will be closing its doors on Sunday 27 September. Situated in the former Bull’s Head on St Mary’s Row, the bar has been a cherished venue known for bringing the vibrant spirit of Havana to Birmingham through live Latin music, DJs, cocktails, authentic cuisine and annual events like the Birmingham Rum Festival.

While the closure marks the end of an era, the team behind The Cuban Embassy assures that this is not farewell forever. A new chapter is already taking shape behind the scenes, promising to bring a fresh identity and brand to the beloved site.

To mark the occasion, a special weekend-long fiesta will take place from 25 to 27 September. This celebration will gather the music, musicians, DJs, food and drinks that have made the venue such a beacon for good times and lively atmosphere in Birmingham.

While details of the venue’s future remain under wraps, the team hints at a revival that will honour its rich past whilst bringing fresh energy to the area.

The final weekend promises to be a heartfelt celebration of everything The Cuban Embassy has brought to Birmingham, as well as a tantalising glimpse of what the future holds.
