Atomic Kitten Star Jenny Frost Shares Her Cat Zig’s Inspiring Battle with Cancer

Jenny Frost, former member of pop group Atomic Kitten, has opened up about the remarkable health challenges her beloved cat Zig has faced and overcome. Since December 2020, when Zig was first diagnosed with cancer, he has endured significant surgeries, losing both ears and later an eye, yet continues to thrive with a spirited attitude.

Zig’s journey began when vets had to remove his ears due to cancer. Then, in a heart-wrenching turn five years later, Zig was diagnosed with cancer again, this time affecting his remaining good eye. Despite the grim diagnosis, Jenny and her family made the difficult decision to have the eye removed to give Zig the best chance at a comfortable life.

Sharing the story on Instagram, Jenny expressed her admiration for Zig’s fighting spirit: “Not a sad post!! Our feisty little pest Zig had to have his ears removed in December 2020 due to cancer. Fast forward to November 2025 & he got cancer again - this time in his ‘good’ eye. He can’t see much out of the other eye but we had to have the eye removed. So now he’s earless & has 1 mildly functioning eye but is cuter than ever. I am truly obsessed with his zero F’s attitude to life. Casually beating cancer twice & more cuddly than ever.”

She also fondly recalled the day she first found Zig ten years ago. Despite her husband Vin’s cat allergy and initial reluctance, Zig quickly became an inseparable part of their family. Fans and followers responded to the touching post with an outpouring of support and praise, calling Zig “a fighter” and “a brave soldier.”

Jenny Frost rose to fame after replacing Kerry Katona in Atomic Kitten in 2001 and has since pursued diverse roles including modeling, television presenting, and reality TV. She is married to Vicente Juan Spiteri, a Spanish scuba diver, and together they have twin daughters approaching their 13th birthday. Jenny also has another child from a previous relationship.

Through Zig’s story, Jenny reminds us all of the resilience and unconditional love pets bring into our lives, inspiring us to face challenges with courage and heart.
