Birmingham Doctor Suspended for Repeatedly Abusing Partner

Dr Muhammed Imran, a doctor who moved to the UK from Pakistan in 2022 and worked in Birmingham’s congenital cardiac surgery field, has been suspended for 12 months following a misconduct hearing. The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) ruled that Dr Imran repeatedly physically assaulted and emotionally abused his partner, Ms A, severely impacting his fitness to practice. Qualified in 2007 in Pakistan, Dr Imran joined the Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust and undertook a fellowship in Congenital Cardiac Surgery.
