Aldi Urges Shoppers to Donate Warm Clothing and Gifts by January 6

Aldi is inviting shoppers to join a winter donation drive by clearing out warm clothing and unwanted gifts post-Christmas. Partnering with The Salvation Army and InPost Lockers, Aldi has made it easier than ever to give back during the colder months.

From December 30 through January 6, customers can donate items such as coats, hats, scarves, gloves, and gently used Christmas gifts—including toys, health and beauty products, and homeware—at InPost Lockers located inside Aldi stores across the UK. These donations will be sold at affordable prices to raise crucial funds for charitable causes.

Luke Emery, National Sustainability Director at Aldi UK, emphasized the simplicity of the initiative: “Whether it’s a warm coat you no longer need or an unwanted Christmas gift that could brighten someone else’s day, this appeal offers an easy way for shoppers to support their local communities. With InPost Lockers, donating is quick and convenient, and we’re proud to partner with The Salvation Army to provide vital assistance during the colder months.”

Shaunacy Burne, Corporate Donation Manager at Salvation Army Trading Company, highlighted the importance of donations: “Winter is a challenging season for many, and access to warm clothing can be life-changing. The items donated will be sold to generate funds that provide essential support to those facing hardship. We are deeply grateful to Aldi and its customers for their generosity, which enables us to offer practical help to those who need it most.”

Paul Selvey, Network Director at InPost UK, added, “This partnership makes donating as simple as dropping off a parcel. By registering online to generate a free postage label, shoppers can conveniently make donations as part of their everyday routines while supporting The Salvation Army’s critical work in local communities.”

To participate, customers must visit https://alditakeback.returns.international/ to register and print a free postage label. The label should be attached to a securely sealed package no larger than 41cm x 38cm x 64cm. Donations can then be dropped off at the nearest InPost Locker. Donors will receive a notification once their items are received.

This campaign offers a convenient and impactful way for Aldi shoppers to share warmth and kindness this winter season.
