West Midlands Police have made a second arrest following a coordinated operation at the launch of the ‘Anti-Zionist Movement’ event held today at The Old Print Works in Moseley, Birmingham.
Earlier in the day, officers detained a 35-year-old woman in Kings Heath at approximately 2:30 pm. The vehicle she was traveling in was stopped based on intelligence indicating her intent to attend the event. She was arrested on suspicion of inciting racial hatred and remains in custody. The woman is also wanted by the Metropolitan Police concerning a Public Order Act investigation linked to speeches and social media activity between May and October last year in London and Birmingham.
Throughout the event, police maintained a presence outside the venue. Around 5 pm, a 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence after a member of the public reported feeling threatened. The police continue to investigate a social media post used to promote the event.
