A 19-year-old man has been seriously injured in a shooting incident on Beswicke Royds Street, Rochdale, this afternoon. Emergency services, including armed police officers, rushed to the scene at approximately 3:20 pm on Thursday, March 5.
The victim sustained suspected life-changing injuries to his leg and was immediately taken to hospital for treatment. Authorities have set up a cordon around the area, which remained in place into the evening, as investigations continue.
Within the sealed-off zone, debris from a vehicle and a damaged black car were visible. In a related development, a white 4x4 was reported to have caught fire near Watergrove Reservoir, roughly three miles away from the shooting site. Police believe this incident may be connected to their ongoing investigation.
