A driver displaying a blue badge in the West Midlands has been criticized by police for illegal parking that obstructed a bus route and disabled access. The red Fiat 500 was parked on a residential street in Stourbridge, Dudley, positioned over double yellow lines and blocking a dropped curb with tactile paving.
West Midlands Police highlighted that the vehicle completely blocked disabled access and prevented buses from making a right turn. This incident comes amid numerous complaints about unlawful parking by blue badge holders in the area.
The Stourbridge Police account, part of West Midlands Police, shared images of the vehicle on X (formerly Twitter) and urged drivers to be mindful of their parking choices. They stated, “We have had a number of complaints in Stourbridge about unlawful parking by drivers with blue badges. As you can see, this car is completely blocking the disabled access and also preventing WM Buses from turning right. Please think about the surrounding area when parking.”
