Sudden Closures and Management Changes at Two Village Pubs Near Sutton Coldfield

Two village pubs near Sutton Coldfield and Tamworth have recently closed their doors abruptly, coinciding with the departure of their landlords and management teams.

The Green Man, located in Middleton, closed earlier this month, accompanied by a heartfelt farewell message shared on its Facebook page. The team expressed deep gratitude to the village community for their support and cherished the friendships and memories made during their tenure.

Meanwhile, The Beehive in Curdworth has also ceased operations temporarily after its landlord and bar manager left just weeks after being reappointed. The couple, who had managed the pub for ten months and were reinstated by new tenants in January, departed within five weeks of returning. They are now facing housing uncertainties as they search for new accommodations and employment.

BirminghamLive has received updates on both venues. The Beehive is scheduled to reopen swiftly on Tuesday, March 10, under new management. In contrast, The Green Man will remain closed for essential building works but is expected to reopen within a few weeks.

Attempts to contact Stour and Stone Inns, believed to lease the pubs from Mitchells and Butlers, have been made, though The Beehive may now have a different lessee.
