Exact Hour UK Snow Bomb Strikes with 3cm Flurries – Birmingham to Be Buried

The UK is bracing for a significant snow event, with detailed WX Charts using Met Desk data pinpointing the exact timing and regions affected by a snow bomb on December 27. Snow flurries, reaching depths of up to 3cm, will start hitting East Anglia at noon and gradually spread westward and southward.

By 3pm, snow is expected across Kent and London, and by 6pm, Greater London and areas further south, including Hampshire, could be blanketed in white. Northern and Midlands regions such as Staffordshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, and the West Midlands conurbation — including Birmingham — are forecast to experience heavy snowfall.

Snow depth charts illustrate significant coverage over much of Northern Ireland, East Anglia, the Midlands, the south-east, and northern England, with the south-east, including London, potentially seeing accumulations up to 3cm.

Looking ahead, the Met Office’s January forecast indicates that high pressure near the UK could bring settled, dry conditions initially, with frost and fog risks. However, occasional wet and wintry weather may still occur, especially in northern and eastern parts. Mid-January could see more changeable weather, though forecast confidence is currently low.

The BBC reports that tomorrow will begin dry and bright for most of the UK, with rain moving in later in the day from the west and south-west, spreading across England by afternoon. Western areas will also be windy.

Through Sunday, clouds will dominate, with lingering rain in the west. Rain will advance from the south-east overnight into Monday, which should remain mostly dry with scattered showers in the west and bright spells in the south. Tuesday is expected to have variable cloud cover with occasional showers and some bright spells.
