Drivers in Birmingham are being advised of an overnight closure on the A38 Aston Expressway to facilitate essential roadworks. The expressway will be shut in both directions from 10pm on Friday, December 5, until 3am on Saturday, December 6.
The closure is necessary to install new traffic management systems and will involve the full closure of Tidal Lane during this period. Following the overnight works, a reduced speed limit of 30mph will remain in effect throughout the weekend to ensure safety for both motorists and road workers.
West Midlands Roads communicated the update on X, stating: “Overnight closure to install traffic management closing off the Tidal Lane. Friday 5 Dec, 10pm - Saturday 6 Dec, 3am. Throughout the weekend, a 30mph speed limit will be in place and Tidal Lane closed off.”
